Nick Mantas

Dedicated Leader

Nick Mantas is a proud lifelong resident of Scarborough–Agincourt and has had the honour of serving the community as its City Councillor for the past two terms.

Raised in the neighbourhood he now represents, Nick understands what makes Scarborough–Agincourt special: its families, cultures, local businesses, parks, schools and strong sense of community. His approach to public service is straightforward: listen to residents, bring people together and work hard to get things done.

Putting Community First

Since being elected to City Council, Nick has focused on delivering practical improvements residents can see in their neighbourhoods. He has championed investments in parks and recreation, worked to improve road and community safety, supported local cultural organizations and traditions, and helped move important projects forward, including the Bridletowne Community Centre.

Nick is also a strong advocate for young people. He believes recreation, sports and community programming create opportunities for youth to develop confidence, leadership and a lasting connection to their community.

A Worldly Outlook

A graduate of York University with a degree in Economics, Nick has pursued advanced studies in international relations, shipping finance and Islamic finance, including academic work at Harvard University and institutions abroad.

His international experience has broadened his perspective on economic development, innovation and the opportunities emerging technologies can create. Nick believes Scarborough–Agincourt should be positioned to benefit from new investment and good jobs while preserving the cultures and traditions that make our community unique.

An Experienced Public Servant

Long before being elected to City Council, Nick built extensive experience in public service. He has worked as a federal constituency assistant, a policy advisor to the Senate of Canada and Chief of Staff to a Toronto City Councillor.

That experience gave Nick a practical understanding of how different levels of government work and, more importantly, how to bring people together to deliver results. Today, he uses that experience to advocate for Scarborough–Agincourt and work collaboratively with residents, City staff and other levels of government.

A Strong Community Partner

For Nick, being a Councillor starts in the community. Whether meeting with residents, working alongside local organizations, supporting neighbourhood events or bringing City staff together to solve a problem, he believes effective representation means being accessible, responsive and focused on results.

Throughout his public service, Nick has built strong relationships with cultural organizations, businesses, community leaders and residents across Scarborough–Agincourt. Those partnerships continue to guide his work at City Hall.

In addition to representing Ward 22 at Toronto City Council, Nick serves in leadership roles and on boards and committees that help shape decisions across Scarborough and Toronto.

He is ready to keep building on that progress and working hard for safer neighbourhoods, stronger parks and community spaces, better opportunities for young people, and a Scarborough–Agincourt that remains a great place to live, work and call home.
